internet connection dropping

Hey everyone I have a virgin media hub, well on the laptop and desktop both on Windows 8.1 it keeps the signal just says internet not available however on my phone and the girlfriends it's fine then all of a sudden it connects to the internet again I'm a massive noob so any advice it also gives off a 5ghz siginal but there all connected to the 2ghz signal

I would imagine its your router (the "virgin media hub") not working well with your devices - I doubt its your computer(s) as you said the problem exists on both your laptop and computer - Unless they're either (or both): very old, second hand or half broken.

 

You can get a decent quality router for around £40/$70/50EUR on Amazon by searching "router".

 

Good options include the N300 WiFi.
