Does anyone know if/how it would be possible to make a DIY vesa mount? Maybe not an articulated arm, but something like a stand that clamps onto / drills through / stands on the desk? I'm currently just stacking the thing on top of a bunch of books, which is a problem, because I do actually read fairly thick books on a semi-regular basis and don't like having to take off my monitor to get to them.

Ideally, I'd like something like this that I don't have to drill through my desk for. Since I spend two thirds of the year in a dorm, drilling through the desk is not an option.

You're and your are not the same. Neither are their, there, and they're. Defiantly and Definitely are definitely not the same. Definately and Rediculous are not words, and you should feel bad for misspelling them. If English is your first language, you don't have a learning disorder, and you get any of these wrong, you are making the entire forum slightly dumber by doing so. Please take the extra three seconds to type properly, and have a nice day.

It's fairly easy, if you have a drill and can get the metal parts, it's a quick project, just drill 4 screws-holes on the corners of a metal square, add some compatible screws to attatch it to the VESA holes (might wanna use some rubber spacers). and bolt the plate to a desk feet, like the picture you linked.

Building a small stool with wood is even easier:
