CaseLabs Returns

Go to solution Solved by aricleather,

It's too damn big. No matter what I put in it, a UT60 480 in the top and I even tried a monsta 360 in the front, it looks empty. Also, the paint on it just comes right off. Like you got the cheapest wood paint at Lowes and slapped it on some metal. Some things that came with it don't even fit in the damn case! Cable management in the front sucks, your front rad fans have to have the cables come into plain sight before they go through a non-grommeted hole. For $500 f-cking dollars the thing is shitty.

Interesting... I've heard many good things about Caselabs cases. Do they have a contact e-mail or phone number?

You may return most new, unopened items

That's what it says on their shipping and returns page...

Sorry :/

The Merlin SM8 is not good for me at all. I don't like it. Things don't fit the way they should and the paint is bad. I might make it work, but just in case, can I return the thing even if I drilled a hole in it? Or do I need to eBay it?

Thanks.

Er... sorry for asking, but what's wrong with it? How come it isn't 'good for you at all?'

eBay it is!

I heard so much stuff about how good they are, but really they're (at least my Merlin) kinda meh and fully aluminum.

What paint? Everything is powdercoated. If the color is coming off, let them know. Ditto with if parts don't fit right. They will gladly replace for free if it's their fault.

I hope this isn't just a case of buyer regret.

It's not. I really like it, just the rad mount in the front won't go in! The thing is too big and somehow warped so that I have to mount the grill in a different way than it came once the rad is in. Once I start trying to get it in, I have to either push it in and risk damage (I think it might have shipped with some paint rubbed off, I'm not sure) or not get it in at all. It really sucks.

Also, the motherboard tray leaves like a .5" gap between the end of it and the case which is weird, but I can live with it.

Take pictures of the issues and email them, they will get back soon with solutions.

Yep, if the paint comes off that easily, you may have a legit RMA grouse. I have the Magnum M8, I'd literally have to use a chisel to whack paint off it. The top cover, which I always have to remove to do anything inside the case, is is sturdy and well painted, not even a nick.....hence, the reason why I like it. Quality and well made case, reminds me of the Soldam I have.

The paint on the side of the rad mount and area where it mounts is scraped off, it's too bad.

  • 1 month later...

Sorry you are having a bad experience with your Caselabs case.  However I've owned a lot of cases in the last 25 years, and this is by far the best case I have ever owned.  I never thought I'd like a case this much.  They literally are like the Mercedes Benz of cases, and if you have problems with the case, their customer service is top notch!  You don't spend $500 on a case to have them not fix any problem.  I went with the Mercury S8 with my last build and its amazing.  My next build, an X99 platform, is also going to be Caselabs.
