I would recommend just getting a more powerful single gpu. With a low end card like the 260x, you can easily get a single card that is more powerful than crossfired 260x's. This way you can save space and keep heat down.

average cost of a R7 260X currently is about 115 dollars. Both=230 dollars.... Strive for at least a R9 270X Way more performance for the same amount of money.

As all have stated the obvious..both cost and performance beg you to either pick up a 270x or higher.  ;)
