I've been scouring the market for people trying to sell complete computers. Usually, this kind of selling can be frustrating. People tend to have specific needs in computers and would rather buy what they need. The sellers can often be persuaded to sell their parts off individually under the rationale that they will sell it quicker AND get more money. You, the buyer, also don't get too much excess crap that you really wouldn't ever use and pay extra.

So why am I blabbering on about this? Well, I'm currently negotiating buying four FX-6100 and one FX-8350 packages (motherboard+cpu+ram+any SSDs they may have) for around 50%-60% of new price.

(AMD systems have the highest deprecation it seems) Note though that I probably won't buy all of them. I'll just go for whatever is the best ratio.

But if there are any sites you know of where you can contact the seller directly, I highly recommend doing this, it saves you quite a lot of money!

This could possibly not apply to all countries. The international option, eBay, isn't really useful for this kind of thing, as it takes a lot more work to put in the first bid and hope it doesn't sell to then contact them after. A bit wonky to say the least. Anyway, that's what I had to say, heh.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

I suppose you mean the long-awaited buying/selling/trading forums? That would practically be canned heaven.

Yeah, it'll certainly be nice to buy from other like minded individuals to whom you can have a somewhat live and genuine conversation without all the marketing jargon on eBay :)

I was gonna suggest a buy/sell/trade area on here the other day, but figured someone had already done so. I'm on a lot of car-related forums and they seem to work well, with the odd person who doesn't come through with goods but makes off with money. That said, count me in as a "yes" vote. Maybe I can unload some of the extra stuff I have here. :D

Sell it quicker? Maybe.

Get more money? Not so sure.

The only issue I find with this sort of thing is that a system is usually worth more than the some of its parts, even though it might take longer to sell.

Although depreciation over several years is different to depreciation over less than a year.

Only if the build is good... When you're buying on these sites, 95% of computers are quickly thrown together "heaps" made by the average person. They're completely unmodded, often without any cable management, full of bottlenecks and/or mismatched/misprioritized components, fans and thermal paste no sane person would touch with a stick, thus NOT EVER worth more than the sum of their parts  :P

That is of course true. Which would be an entirely different niche that would be popular if we do ever get a trading/selling forum :D

I deal with the used market. Main brands ie dell/hp sell better to your eBay market. I find off lease pc's with core 2 quo/quads with 4gb of ram, toss in a gddr5 gpu and resell them. They perform decently, cost is low, decent profit, and I'm actually selling decent products. I love those guys that sell old athlons with 2gb hd 5450's and call them extreme gamers...

Specs: Core I7-2600K @ 4.5GHz @ 1.35V, 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance Black 1600MHz CL9, Cooler Master Evo 212, MSI Z77 Mpower Motherboard, Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Vapor-X @ 1000/1400, Cooler Master HAF 932 Blue Edition w/ 3 Cougar Hydraulic Bearing 120MM fans (2 up top 1 in the bottom) replaced side panel with a window, and rear fan with a Cougar Hydraulic Bearing 140MM, Cooler Master GX 650 80+ Bronze PSU, Samsung DVD-RW, Samsung 840 Pro 128GB SSD, Seagate 750GB SATA III 7200RPM
