Hi again. As the tittle says, I'm kind of stuck with my PC. It will not even show the BIOS or anything as long as there is a video card installed. If I remove the card, or it's power cables, then it does turn on. But with the card on and all it's power cables, it won't even show anything on the screen. Either from the card or the on-board graphics, stays black

ASRock n68c-s UCC motherboard

AMD Phenom II X4 295

Nvidia GeForce GTX 295 Graphics card

750 watt Corsair PSU

I think that's all the relevant details. Tough if you need something extra, just let me know

Phenom 295?

Would it be out of the question that your 295 now dwells on the other side, so to speak.

Not sure what you mean by that, but I think neither so you about the 295. I think it's a revision number but I'm not 100% sure

Also, I did do a BIOS update recently, but it did work a couple times after that. My wife was using it and there was a thunder storm in the process and power outages, but everything else seems fine. Could it be that the video card itself died and everything else didn't?

That's what I was getting at.

Try another slot, different PCIe wires, or test the GPU on another board or something.

If you have to, I doubt a local PC shop would mind testing it, especially since it has prospects for a sale.

I tried a different card today. It did turn on, but it did not detect the card, running with on-board graphics. So that's 2 cards that don't work. Motherboard damaged? It only has 1 PCIe port that can fit a graphics card comfortably

Try putting your GFX card into another PC, that is if you have one. Take your card to a nearby local Computer shop and test it there.

I do have another PC at home, but strangely it does the same with 2 other cards. My GTX 295 isn't compatible with its PSU so I can't test that one there. But that PC also fails to take the other 2 cards (both Zotac 210 cards) and my main rig rejects all 3. It couldn't be a coincidence that all 3 cards are faulty, right? I mostly suspect faulty motherboards tough since the other PC ( not my main one) was a non-working gift from a friend and it isn't in it's best condition. But what do you think? Could I really be carrying 3 faulty cards? I don't know of any PC repair shops around town :(

You'll probably have to take it to someone to confirm if it's dead or not.

If it's not, then it's likely the motherboard acting up.

It could also be an issue with the monitor, windows no detecting it properly. It doesn't sounds like this issue but it is always worth a try. Try a new monitor and/or cable if you have one. It may also be the motherboard as others have said.

Ok this is outrageous! I got a new motherboard today, an ASRock 970 Extreme4 and I'm having the same issue! With all 3 cards, Dr. Debug gives me the error B6 that says that the VGA card was not detected. I tried all 3 different cards and in all 3 PCIe ports and they all do the same. Even with no card inserted it gives the same error. Are you telling me I have 3 different cards that are all dead then?
