i lost 2 cores of my processor?

so yesterday i was curious about how AMD FX-8150 temperature would be if it is only use 6 cores out fo 8, and i'm turn it off with msconfig. First time i'm open it i see there is an option between 1 to 8, the i choose 6 and restart my computer, when it's rebooted, my computer can't work properly so then it's had something running on it's own, but after that it's work properly.

after i want to change it back to 8 cores, i don't see any text of option to change it to default setting, the maximum option is 1-6 in msconfig.

so, did i really screwed or there is another solution to fix this, even though i don't feel any difference, but i just feel wrong to use it like this.

hope you can understand what i'm saying because i'm really bad at english, thank you very much
