I know there isn't such a thing as Visual Basic for mac but some people talk about real studio. I downloaded several versions but I can't registrate for the trail and I can't find any keys.

I need VB to learn for my programming exam in 2 days. Anyone got any ideas?

This, and that's coming from a Mac guy. There is no Mac equivalent of VB so that's the only solution you've got.

yeah but I can't buy windows right now. and my code that I had doesn't work anymore. I'll have to watch YT vids on VB to make my exam I guess.

We had aces on school to it but on their application server which I can use at home, they don't have it installed and it doesn't let me install it.

Could you not just wrap VB in a container using Wineskin and run it in OS X?

Ugh...it seems like a pretty complex software to Wineskin.

Why is it? I've wrapped games and other things in the past. I can't see why VB wouldn't work, not that I'm entirely sure what it is. :P

You guys are crazy. You know you guys are self-destructive. There's a funny farm somewhere and it's got your names written all over it. But I'm gettin' outta here.

It's a programming language. Visual Basic.

I was just concerned about the compiler.

I kind of knew it was for programming.

After a quick google it seems others have wrapped it with success :)

I always prefer to wrap things as it's all self contained with no need for other software or other OS's.

  • 3 weeks later...

Your best option is to install 8.1 as a trial and use VS2013 Express in a virtual machine. However it is worth noting that VB is dead, it has little to no value outside of legacy code and macro script.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.

You sir are a hypocrite

No I'm not. Me not posting would have meant possibly even more necros. Don't call me a hypocrite when you were the one who made the mistake in the first place.
