H100i fan multiplier thingy?

The h100i comes with a fan multiplier to plug in my fans, but my fans dont plug into it am i doing something wrong? P.S the stock fans dont fit into them either 

There is a little piece of plastic covering the pins on the splitter. Pull them off.

I spent 3 days figuring that out when i had mine. Good to know I'm not alone.
