Hello everyone,

After much debates with my inner self i've finally decided to aim at building my own PC.

It will be my first build but i think i like the challenge aswell as the less money or better perfomance i'm going to get for my budget.
Since i'm new i'm going to use the template provided in the sticky.

1. Budget & Location
I live in belgium so my budget will be in Euros (€). My budget will be around 1000€ for the computer itself (no peripherals) however i'm ready to spend a little bit more if performance is greatly increased.

2. Aim
The aim will be to use the computer on an everyday basis as well as some middle/HIgh graphic in gaming (bioshock, wildstar, guildwars 2, assassin creed, ...)

3. Monitors
I'm planning on getting one monitor to start with but planning to add another one later on the road possibly the same one as the other.

4. Peripherals
I'll need an OS and peripherals but thoses shouldn't be accounted for in the final price.

I fell in love with the case corsair 760T in white so it's the one i'm going to use, no need to find another one guys :)

I open to any suggestions you'll provide as well as alternatives and if it could be alright to look at (glass panels on the case).

I'll let your expertise guide me in my journey.

760T is quite expensive and I wouldn't recommend that case in this budget - it costs about 200E, 20% of your budget. Do you want to game on the future monitors also or just on one? You will need lots of horsepower for more than one monitor, and it costs a lot.

Agree about the case. But for the monitors if he only plan to have 2 monitor for works then he wont need much power since he wont be able to game on 2 monitors anyway. 3 monitors is another story but if you have the budget for 3 monitors you better get addtional GPU etc first.

Anyway, can you (the topic maker) gave me the link to the website you are going to buy from? since PCPartPicker for countries that use Euro is very limited...

Gaming will be only on one monitor, the second one will mainly be for side web brwosing, skype, ...

The price i was saying was without the case, i know what it cost and maybe if you can provide an adequate replacement style wise for a cheaper price i'll change my mind. However, because the computer is in the middle of the room and it's one of the main think you put your eyes on when you enter that said room, i'd like to keep it stylish white/black to fit the environment.

And here is the website i plan to buy on : http://www.topachat.com/pages/configomatic.php

What @Bartelsh gave you doesn't make much sense.

My proposition:

Intel Core i5 4570
ASUS B85M-G
Corsair XMS3 1600MHz 2x4GB CL9
Corsair 350D
Corsair CX500M
Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Crucial M500 120GB
ASUS GTX770

It covers about 90% of your budget, the rest you could spend on a faster SSD or a faster GPU, the choice is yours ;)

(I made it before I read the post about the price being without the case, you can use my proposition anyway)

I'm going to build my self a system with the same budget.

My specs will be:

  • CPU: Intel i5 4690k (when it comes out)
  • MoBo: MSI Z97-G45 GAMING
  • GPU: Sapphire Tri-X R9 280X
  • RAM: Kingston Fury 8GB
  • PSU: Corsair RM550
  • Case: Corsair 300R (windowed)
  • CPU Cooler: Thermalright HR 02 Macho
  • SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
  • HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB

So this will be my next system and it will cost me ~€1000.

@Gachr Everything you listed seems alright, i'm gonna have to pass on the mini-atx since i feel it doesn't leave any room for ater improvements, havng a standard ATX just feels better if one day i upgrade the GPU by bridging it with another one. And i'm going to keep my case, you just can't argue with personnal preference.

@The Slimy Pig Are you sure 550 whatt is enough ?

How about the NTZX White Case? That one look nice too :P And you want a white/black theme overall for the whole PC right? It's kinda hard to do that since White/Black isnt a popular color scheme so at least with this generation of CPU there isnt any Mobo with that color yet, and the ASUS's White Mobo isnt out yet so the only option left is to go with a Black/Silver kind, which is the sabertooth mark 2 and it's kinda expensive.

CPU Cooler:  Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  (€97.98 @ Hardwareversand)

All of the part with custom price are those I checked on that website you gave already, those with the price automatically put by PC PartPicker I havent check yet. It should still keep the White/Black color scheme but you will need some additional white LED to make it look a bit more beautiful :P dont worry, those LED are usually very cheap.

And again, the usual advice: wait for a few more weeks for the 4690k to come out instead of buying this 4690 without K.

Well this seems a solid proposition, i'm therefore going to wait for the 4690K to be out and we'll start to work on something similar.

350D is smaller than ATX cases and you can also put there high end hardware, even make SLI - there is a picture below ;)

So you are completely sure about 760T? There is a similar case from Corsair, also in the spoiler.

It's should come out next week or next 2 weeks I suppose. But there's also a rumor that it can be delayed till September. So good things that we have World Cup now to distracted you isnt it :3? let's wait until the end of this month and if by that time the 4690k isnt out them better go with a 4670k.

Also, for the small case/mobo, I really advise against it if you dont absolutely need it. Since being small mean the space for the GPU to blow the heat out wont be much, it will make other stuff like mobo and even the GPU itself hotter. Plus cable management in a small case is a nightmare

No they wont... they dont perform much better compare to a i5 4670k in gaming (the only thing they have better is the hyperthread, which there isnt many game can take advantage of), and their clock speed is similar to the current i5 4690k

That's really not true. With the extra 100$ he would save by getting a cheaper CPU, he could get a much better GPU and maintain the exact same gaming performance seeing as there's no benefit to having an i7.

They will be released at the end of June, also one Polish portal has already published the tests, you can work it out with some kind of a translator: http://www.purepc.pl/procesory/intel_core_i54690k_vs_core_i54670k_czyli_devils_canyon_w_akcji

That one looks good too, if i go with this one i should be carefull to get a mini-ATX should i ?

Room isn't a problem so i don't really care if the case is big or small.

I don't really understand the question. 350D is an mATX case and the other one is an ATX cube case.

The thing is that ATX costs more than mATX, and the functionality isn't really a problem with it since Intel CPU's are very power-efficient.

because they will last forever for performance

I bet 1000$ that they won't, give me your info if you accept and we can contact in 10-15 years.

That's great news. I wont have to including that advise in every single one of my suggestion anymore...

And for the mATX matter, you are kinda wrong. Actually the mATX stuff tend to cost more than ATX, since they are not that common -> arent made in big quantity as ATX board. The 350D is a great choice if you want to go mATX though, But as far as I concern, if you dont need the easy to move around aspect of the mATX/ITX case/mobo, you shouldnt try to get it and get a normal ATX instead.

@Megazero

No offense but I think you're a few years back. All basic motherboards are on mATX, I was comparing TUF motherboard prices and Mark 2 is 25% more expensive than Gryphon.

Core 1000 was about half price of for example Corsair 200R, 350D also costs about 20-25% less than 450D.

You are not comparing stuff on the same ground... you are comparing the mATX with the expensive ATX one, same goes for the case since it belong to a same series so the later is more expensive. For mobo you need to look at boards that perform kinda similar, for example these 2 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97mgaming and http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97g45gaming, they are almost the same except that the G45 is ATX and have mSata while the mATX onedont. and Corsair 350D should be compare to Corsair 300R to 500R.
