I've been experiencing terrible audio crackling recently, I've tried the front audio jack as well as the audio jack on the motherboard. both have the same problem. I tried disabling audio enhancements for my earphones and speakers but nothing works, I've also re-installed realtek drivers. Anyone have any ideas?

You sure it's not your headphone/headset/speakers that have problems? Try plugging other headphone, or try plugging your headphone to other devices

Yes I use my headphones for my phone and it works fine on that

Sounds like mobo (onboard audio) problem. If you wanna be sure, uninstall realtek drivers using driversweeper, reboot and let windows use its generic audio driver. If crackling still there, then yeah, onboard audio chip problem.

If that is the case, get an external DAC/amp as a replacement.

its a gigabyte ga 78lmt, the crackling seems to get worse when i'm opening something for example, so i think it may well be a latency issue.
