RGB lighting controller firmware

GIGABYTE recently released a new IT5701/5702 RGB lighting controller firmware upgrade. I did not perform such an upgrade before, but I read about a previous firmware bricking some motherboards. How do I safely perform such an upgrade?

Make sure you don't lose power. These days firmware upgrades tend to be pretty safe. They are never 100% safe, you're always rolling the dice, but as long as you let it complete the process it should be completely fine.
I do see some worrying details on these upgrades, but they're from 10months ago so I assume the issues have largely been ironed out.
