My prebuilt PC came with 16gb of 3200mhz T-force ddr4 ram, and luckily before the ram crisis I was able to get 2 additional 16gb 3600mhz crucial sticks which was only around 80$ at the time. To get better performance, I overclocked my original ram to 3600mhz because they all have to run at the same speed and I didn't want to underclock my new crucial ram. It worked fine until I started getting frequent BSODs with ram corruption errors. Is that bad?

Uhm, define bad?

Bad as in damaging components, no.

Bad as in annoying and possible crashes corrupting files, yes.

Bring the 3600 down to 3200, you can't notice the different anyway.  I run my DDR4 machines at 3200, stable and fast.

You didn't mention your system specifications to assist in the troubleshooting of the problem. Until then, people are just going to grasp at straws.

Is it Ryzen or Intel for starters? Did you read the QVL list for approved RAM vendors before making your purchase? Zen 2 does have a memory controller issue of not being able to push 3600 MHz with four sticks which was resolved in Zen 3.

@Dedayog is correct though. You won't notice a difference between 3600-CL16 and 3200-CL14 in an average use case.

why would that be good? its up to you but id suggest not overclocking? cant have your cake and eat it, maybe you can increase base cpu clock speed instead?

I know it might not be secure, yeah vibecoding is cool but we shouldnt do smt unless we understand it and etc. thx but these disclaimers get old quick. maybe we shall be reminded frequently for we are stupid but i dont work at a nuclear powerplant.
