Yep, just as the title says, stop restarting!

issue is, the darn server running windows 11 \ plex, each time it restarts for some bleeping reason the "speedstep" technology is disabled - so im at 500mhz per core.  I think this has to do with some overclocking SOFTWARE i installed awhile ago, but since then ive given up on trying to fix it.  I even did a clean install of windows from the dell whatever rescue thing.  still happens!  so yeah, scratch trying anymore, whatever.

upgraded it to a intel core ultra 7 265kf, overkill for a dell but whatever.  idk if it was the software or the cpu itself that caused the issue.  but theres a cooler master \ better than stock heatsink on it now - so since its wider than the case, it dont got the side panel on.  no biggie.
not pretty BUT, with the stupid issue i have, shutdown, pull power and bios battery, start it up again.  thats my solution.

problem?  darn thing restarts randomly.  so it goes back to 500mhz.  since i dont have a monitor connected to it (eh i could, sometimes i do it isnt preferable), when i RDP to the thing i say "what the fudge!!! you restarted again!"
im guessing its due to windows updates, im used to using windows datacenter or otherwise.  maybe driver updates - but i disabled all that "dell\otherwise" stuff through services.msc, msconfig and so on.

so this is kinda a twofold issue, both are solutions

A) any ideas on whats causing the bios to flip back to speedstep turning off, each reboot?

B) how the crap can i stop the pc from restarting from updates entirely?  its obv not happy with reboots so lets eliminate them if possible.  i should see an uptime of 14+ days in taskman, not .5mhz in coreTemp and say "AHHHHH!!!!!"

lol, thanks

What's the hardware on the PC, or how much of it is the DELLs proprietary crap?

Use BCUninstaller to uninstall everything you don't need/recognize, with these filtering options

How about a dummy HDMI?
And maybe a USB mouse jiggler.

I know, very roundabout & hacky way... but cheap, and should get the job done.

I honestly always thought it's kind of a scam and he's not very popular around here cause folks "bricked" their windows installs probably using some of the "experimental" options in his tool (which he explicitly says *not* to use at any chance)

But then I actually watched a newer video about it and he was very clear about the options, quick and easy too so I kinda thought "eh it probably just works as he says" then I learned it's actually free you just have to copy the command line prompt - which I then figured I couldn't use because of the aforementioned Microsoft update I already know would eff up my windows 11 install irrecoverably (not necessarily straight up, but figuratively speaking) so then I dl the executable installed it and *only* turned off updates, done.

Works just like sledgehammer did on win 10, a two seconds job lol.

Then soon after I saw this video and yes I was "surprised" but also thought that's probably the most comprehensive Linux/gaming video I've seen, like no bs straight to the point...

I really want his install it looks so sleek!

(Like I get it, he only has a window manager, but idk how to do that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

There are a couple of 'removal/disable'options that may mess up someone's OS, but overall it is super clean and fast. And it's a single PowerShell prompt! Wizardry!
