Do you have any fans plugged into the motherboard, do they power up?

no they do not, but the fan I have plugged into the atc conector powers up when I jumper the psu

guessing you didnt have surge protection?

surge protection does not help with sudden power loss. the breaker was manualy tripped so no surge should of ocured and all of my copmuters are used with surge protectors.

well I think I found the problem, a cap was leaking its fluid on the mobo and it corroded a few traces, so I think it was a separate failure that just happened to take place when the power stopped, now I have to find another minecraft server.
