I boot into linux cinnamint, it goes past the asus motherboard logo, then displays the loading wheel for lonux mint. It takes a while to get past that and immediately the monitor displays no signal, then less than 5 seconds later, it changes to a black screen, the no signal screen dissapears and the monitor displays no light. I have plugged the monitor to other devices and works just fine. I have an office pc, it has a b350m motherboard, single stick of 16gb 2400mhz ddr4 (2nd slot of 4), amd athlon 3000g with stock cooler. It previously was working, then wouldnt even get to the asus logo before the screen turned black. It has been two months since and i decided to try to fix it. I pulled it apart and reassembled it, and it now turns on to the linux loading wheel. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Not sure if it works on Mint but on Fedora if I press ESC on the loading screen it displays the log for the booting process. Try this when you are on the loading wheel and maybe that'll give you some more info on what's happening.

That's proper weird.

Anyway, next time if it hangs on the Mint loading screen try pressing ESC, if something is misbehaving software-wise on boot you'll see it. If no then we gonna troubleshoot your hardware stuff.

It turns out the real reason it wasnt booting months ago was that a sibling *brother-ahem* had switched out the athlon 3000g for an amd a10-9700. i noticed after trying to run minecraft to see if it would be fine in a few hours and was immediately met with a unwavering 2 fps. i have tried replacing it to the original athlon 3000g and now it boots but has a black screen. the signal doesnt drop it is just fully black
