About 2 months ago i got the HyperX Cloud III headset and its been fine so far, but today i set it down to do something and when i came back they suddently sounded different?
they now have this more bassy sort of spacious sound? and also it feels like theyre playing at the back of my head now which is a hard thing to describe.
what couldve possibly happened? i updated the drivers, it stayed, i tried them on my phone and i think the sound profile still stays.
i would be fine with this if the sound didnt feel like it played behind me because it feels strangely fatiguing.
any help is appreciated.

try a video with clear stereo spacial sounds, like this one:

if you dont hear any left-right direction anymore, the ground wire in your headphone cable broke, which in my experience makes the sound go very spacy and distant. i've had two sets of hyperx clouds do that after some abuse to the cable (and i've since replaced said faulty cables)

the only other thing i can think of is that you've turned on virtual surround sound.

Sound direction still works.

I doubt that its a setting since i didnt touch anything and the weird sound still stays on my phone.

Only thing i can think of is a hardware fault but how and what? Theyre new and i havent been abusing them
