Hey everyone!

I’m planning to upgrade my phone this Black Friday and I’m thinking about switching back to Android. I’m currently using an iPhone 12, and the main reason I stayed on iPhone for so long was to avoid any network compatibility issues after moving to Canada.

Now I’m ready to return to Android, and I’d love some recommendations.

I’m considering a few options right now: Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy S25 Ultra, or the Google Pixel 10 XL. When I previously used Android, I relied a lot on apps like Parsec, PCX2, and similar tools—which aren’t available on iPhone—so that’s another reason for the switch.

If you have experience with these phones or any other Android device you’d recommend, I’d really appreciate your input. Thanks!

OnePlus 15 releases very soon, I think even today in the US.  Great phones for the money.

Are you currently in a contract? Wait until the actual day of Black Friday if you're not, the best monthly rate deals drop the day of. Then you can also usually get a pretty good deal on a phone. Samsung currently has $300ish off of the S25U, plus a $300 credit on top of whatever your phone would get (I think this would actually be the smarter route, since your iPhone is quite old)...so it's cheaper, but still on the expensive side. Plus side though, you can put it on a monthly payment plan which is the smarter choice.

It's available for preorder in Canada, the US doesn't get it for quite a while. They're ok, but for what they're asking in Canada and without any carrier incentives they're not as good of a deal as they seem.

is there a point of waiting till black Friday because the deals starts really early on and by the way I have telus epp instentive from my employer I’m not sure how much that’s gonna affect the total price ? but any idea on what amount should be reasonable? I’m planning to lease or finance depending on which one is cheaper in the long run

You need to quote or tag people when replying, otherwise they won't see your replies; I didn't see this until I was scrolling through the forum again.

I imagine you've already picked something up, but for future decisions the actual day of Black Friday when it comes to cell phone sales is always better. I signed up for a contract a few years ago on the day before BF, was told it was the best deal they'd have, and the next day it went down by $15/mo and the phone went down to $0/mo.

Telus is all right, but it depends what the incentive offer was. Some are good, some are horrible. Leasing the phone is only worth it if the buyout amount is about the same (or more) than what you could reasonably sell the used phone for. Otherwise you're just ripping yourself off.
