Galaxy S3 internal speaker

Hey guys, wondering if anyone can shed some light on this situation. The internal speaker in my S3 stopped working, no water damage or any physical damage I can tell of but it just cut out during a call one day and I've had to use the loud speaker as an alternative. I bought a new speaker flex from eBay and fitted it this afternoon but the problem still persists... I run Cyanogenmod and have reset the phone and went to past builds in case it's a software problem but the internal speaker still won't produce sound. I'm at a complete loss.
