Difference between these Windows keyboard layouts?

Go to solution Solved by manikyath,

the top line "English (canada)" or "English (United states)" is the display language.

the bottom line is the keyboard (US or colemak) layout used for that display language

the thing you want to get rid of is either the EN_US or the EN_CA display language.. which, good luck, that's been broken since the launch of windows 10 for anything other than EN_US with an US layout keyboard... at least that i'm aware of.

having deployed a LOT of english (belgium) computers with an azerty layout i can tell you it's a mess...you can clear it, but if you dont clear it correctly it'll just come back.

I've wanted to try switching to Colemak, but I forgot I had two different varieties of English for my keyboard layout. Is there any difference between the English (Canada) and English (United States)? I live in Canada, which is why I'm thinking about it.

Is this for real?

See where it says "Colemak"? That's where it shows US for both others, so both options use the same US keyboard layout.

English (Canada) and English (US) refers to the locale, so there might be differences in how time and units are formatted (e.g imperial vs metric)

Remember to either quote or @mention others, so they are notified of your reply

Well, I was actually able to uninstall the United States display language. The problem is that it installed the English (United States) Canadian Multilingual Standard when it was finished, which is uninstallable. 🙃
