that air cooler you had in there was so freaking ugly the water cooler fits the pc more .

I agree! The cooler wasn't bad but didn't look right. There is no way it would look good in any system which was ok in my first case but not in this one :)

Gaming PC Redux v2.


So this is the 2nd time I've upgraded this computer, I built the system as a Affordable AMD System which didn't cost that much, then I decided to upgrade its looks and now it looks the part however one part of this build has always bugged me, the CPU performance the FX-6300.


So this is my Gaming PC At the moment.


NZXT Source 340 Case

AMD FX-6300 CPU @ 3.50GHz

AMD Radeon R9 280X 3GB GPU

GSkill Ripjaws DDR3 2166MHz RAM

Corsair H110 Liquid CPU Cooler

Gigabyte 970A-DS3P Motherboard

700w Cooler Master G-Series PSU

1TB 7200RPM Toshiba Hard Drive

Windows 10 Pro

So what am I doing tonight? Well the Motherboard and CPU are being replaced with these!

Yes this machine is being equipped with a Intel Core i5 4690K CPU and a MSI Z97 Gaming 3 Motherboard!


Will be installing these tonight after work :)



Benchmarking:


Currently with the FX-6300 running the show this is what she gets in 3DMark!

Plus the benchmark, a modest increase of just under 300 points on 3DMark would get a lot more on different benchmarks.

It's been 2 and a half years since the last update, We've changed the case, the cooling, the Motherboard and now ... Its the Graphics card turn to be upgraded!!!

 

Welcome to the Asus Strix RX 480 8GB!!! 

 

We shall begin with a Benchmark of the R9 280X, This shall be its last duty as part of my Gaming PC until she is ripped out of my system for good!

Well there you go, its almost a new system apart from the Power Supply and RAM! Well ... the RAM Will be upgraded soon to 16GB instead of 8GB so watch this space :)
