Helldivers 2 constantly "missing" 2-3 files?

I'm on PC, Steam, Windows 11, and I'm constantly finding (alongside the other current performance issues) that when I verify files after a few sessions it always says 2-3 files are missing and will be reacquired. It seems to make no real difference to the game's performance (which is still not great considering I run on a 5800X3D) but I'm a bit annoyed that this seems to be happening a lot lately.

What ram speed? Are you using curve optimizer?

If anything, a missing file would cause a crash when the game tries to read required data that's not available.

 

I don't see how it would affect performance outside of very specific, unlikely to have even been considered by developers, edge cases.

 

Are you using a virus scanner that could cause the files to be quarantined?

 

Have you checked the disk for defects?

Stellar Blade does this regularly, some Sony executable gets installed and then few days later it asks you if steam is "allowed to make changes" and deletes the file (into your recycle bin lol)

 

Idk what it is but sure seems like some rootkit stuff (knowing Sony) I'm not saying it is, it's just "weird".

 

Maybe something similar is going on here, I doubt many people even notice when they "allow Steam to make changes" after all gaben giveth and gaben taketh...
