Hi

I upgraded to 10Hg networking.

Incidentally my unmanaged 2.5Gb switch  crapped out.

I  have 10GG to/from my NAS (trunas scale). - direct  connection mainly.

I m using an old 8 port 1 Gb managed switch for now.

I am looking for another - supplement/replace if it fails.

So

8 port minimum

Managed -  I just use vlan support = 802.1Q VLAN.

Managed through the 'cloud'orr a phone  app?

A HARD NO TO THEM!

A simple web based management interface is what I want.

Inexpensive - it is only 1Gb.

useful info is appreciated.

Edit: I am looking for a 1gb managed switch - not 10Gb.

Also I should have been clearer  initially - not fulll rack size.

Thanks

Wait do you want a 1G or 10G managed switch?

I've been using the Netgear XS512EM for quite a while.  It's not cheap, but it's 10G, local interface for management, and it's worked well for me. (You will find it on sale, or cheaper through other authorized resellers)

Budget? Country?  ozzy in name would imply Australia, New Zealand?

New or refurbished, how much noise you're comfortable with?

QuantaMesh T1048-LY4R costs as little as 52$ plus shipping :  https://www.ebay.com/itm/357342308792

48 x 1g + 2 x 10g sfp+ , management, review here https://www.servethehome.com/qct-quantamesh-t1048-ly4a-review-our-datacenter-lab-switch/

Dell N3048 (Force10) switches are 85$ plus shipping : https://www.ebay.com/itm/356826200353

48 x 1g + 2 x 10sfp+ apparently they're noisy with the default fans, but they're standard 40mm fans you could change for more silent ones.

new stuff, check out

Thanks for the info.

I ordered this:

https://www.tp-link.com/au/business-networking/easy-smart-switch/tl-sg116e/

No cloud setup, which is great.

It  does vlans.

Also same basic link aggregation, if  proxmox plays nice with it.

I have a small proxmox machine with 2 nics - and no room for more ( dell optiplex 3060).

My 10Gb connections are direct links to/from my PC/NAS with cheap cards.

10Gb switches with what I need are  just not worth it in my opinion.

Quick edit:  just checked and it is about $65 US.

Also no need to buy any more cables and adapters.

I have a bag of various   RJ45 ethernet cables )cat5/cat6) and using them.
