Hey everyone, amateur PC builder here, and I am looking at upgrading my ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 3060 TI 8GB to a 5060 Ti 16GB OC. I know Dual's are the greatest, but I am limited by both budget and case size.

What I want to know is - is the 5060 Ti OC any good?

Gamer and Digital Media student/enthusiast.

What do you mean by Duals are the greatest?

A 5060 Ti 16GB performs as well as a 5060 Ti 16GB does. If you are happy with the performance over a 3060 Ti, buy one.

Appreciate the feedback and answer. Apologies I meant to say that the Duals are NOT the greatest, but thanks for pointing that out 🙂

Well, the 5060 Ti is a relatively low power card so even a dual fan model will be sufficient.

I had a Palit Gamerock 2080 Super that was a dual fan model and its a 250w card over the 5060 Ti's 180w power draw, and it was perfectly fine in terms of noise and thermals.

Remember that OC models are just models with sliiiiiiiiiiightly higher boost clock from the factory but in terms of real world gain its not significant.

Most of the time we recommend people getting the non OC models as the OC models are usually too expensive for 1 fps increase.

What performance are you getting with your 3060ti? At first glace your getting a ~25% performance uplift, so I woudln't upgrade for that small of an improvement.

Appreciate that. I have not been able to find a non-OC version of the card (curse of living in Australia), but considering it is only $749-$849 AUD (490-560 USD) it is relatively cheap. Aussie mark up on Computer Tech is disgusting

I am needing the memory upgrade more than anything due to digital media production, but good to know. I will take 25% over nothing though.

As a Hardware Unboxed enthusiast I am very familiar with the Australian market 🙂  lets be honest, its shit.

I live in Norway and we have 25% VAT on everything sold in Norway + other taxes.. so things are expensive here too.

I bought the RTX 4080 new on release in 2022 and I payed 2830 AUD... My wallet is still screaming.

That is not a bad price for a 5060 Ti 16GB considering where you live.

I see a few models in the range of 700-750 AUD.  The ASUS Dual OC is a decent 5060 Ti and should perform rather well.

Its probably not going to be a significant bump in performance over your 3060 Ti but you write that you need the VRAM so I think its a solid option then.

Our teacher, Daniel Owen, has a good video on this comparison.

This is just a gaming performance comparison.
