i have 5 cheap case fans, one that came with the case that is quiet loud and vibrates, I also have 4 arctic f12 case fans which are quiet but can get loud when the speed gets cranked up, I have them connected to a fan controller so I can change the speed. I like the Corsair AF140 fans but they are a bit expensive, but are they worth it? what do you guys think

Noctua NF-F12, Silverstone Air Penetrator, NoiseBlocker eLoop, Corsair SP. 120/140mm versions of any of those are all great.

EDIT: Corsair fans aren't worth it if you go for the silent version. The performance versions perform really well, but they aren't quiet at all.

This minus the corsairs is a great list, I'd also put noiseblocker blacksilent pros on it aswell.

The arctic are acutally great fans for the money but they can be noisy that's true. Corsair fans won't be much of a difference. If you want silence you can also consider any be quiet! fans. Their silent wings 2 series are seriosuly quiet. :D

who cares...

On a budget, bitfenix spectre pros are pretty good, being cheaper than the other ones listed, although not as good performing, they are very good for the money.

True words here. Just don't get the PWM version. They tend to make the typical PWM noise.
