I recently built a new pc and was wondering why my gameplay was so choppy.
I have all the latest drivers installed as I installed them when I set the OS up.
The graphics card that I'm using is a MSI GEFORCE RTX 3060 and the monitor I have is a Westinghouse. I'm not sure about the specs it says its 1080 60hz for HDMI

I tried to record it with OBS, but it didn't pick it up which makes me think it's the monitor.

The video below is filmed on my phone.
If it's as simple as getting a new/better monitor/display that's fine.
THANK YOU!

That looks like ghosting. It's an artifact of the monitor's pixels not responding at the same rate as its refresh. So in this case, the monitor is the reason for this behavior.

Thank you! I was hoping it was the monitor and not the computer hardware!

A decent gaming monitor with a high max refresh rate (120Hz or more), good pixel response time, and variable refresh rate technology (G-sync/Freesync) makes a huge difference in your gaming "quality of life" and is highly recommended.

Thank you for the suggestion! This will make my search for a better monitor easier!

Rtings is a great website for monitor reviews:

I'd probably stick with a 1080p monitor if you're using a 3060, but a 1440p monitor could be an OK choice too if you're OK with using more significant upscaling presets in heavier games. The 1440p monitor would give you more headroom to upgrade your GPU to a higher-end one later without it being overkill for the monitor. On the other hand, sticking with 1080p will mean that you can probably get away with buying cheaper GPUs and/or keep your GPUs longer before you need to upgrade.
