WD Black is Bugged

Hello there, I have a  WD "Black" PC SN740 256gb 2242 m.2 that I bought for my laptop, but because Elitebook 850 G1 and G2 cannot boot off of the m.2 for some stupid reason, I put  the m.2  in my pc as an addon ssd for games, but I noticed that randomly, out of the blue, it would either disappear or it would be seen but all the files were inaccessible. 

The health is 100% and there are no drive errors, but it's just very random.
Why would this happen?

Does the drive/files come back e.g. after rebooting? Might need a cold boot not a warm boot.

 

Check and update drive firmware if not already done. I don't recall which models were affected but some Black models did have compatibility problems early on.
