nice i did try and stop the down load so i have currently with opera gx open with a good few tabs open, and discord with cams i get between 63-66c with the cpu load of 12%.

Plus i do have all of the m.2 slots filled on the mobo and 96gb ram in 2 48gb sticks which can probably also increase the cpu temps as its the brain in the pc.

Few tabs, discord and cams are not really true idle so 63-66c is totally normal for a 7900X.

Again, I see absolutely nothing wrong here.

If you want to check your true idle then close all main programs, let the PC sit for a while to let the water temperature and slight radiator heatsoak to go down.

Remember that ambient temperature also has a huge factor in temperature.

I have a ryzen 9 7900x with a nzxt kraken elite 240mm aio and im getting all from 65-85c and i have tried many different pump speeds and it still doesnt do anything all of which range from 50-90% speed on the nzxt cam app the picture is what i currently am using the pump is on 80% right now but it still gives me very high temps even on idle.

Good luck with that. AM5 runs warm and a 7900x certainly does with its large core count.

Why do you want your temps lower, these temps are perfectly resonable for a 7900x with a 240mm AIO.

Its exactly what I would expect.

so getting those temps is normal even when you get like 75-80c on idle?

75-80c on idle is too warm, I expect between 45-60c on idle.

Are you sure its totally idle and not running backround tasks or watching youtube etc?

But load temps is where its at, if it doesnt go above 85c during load its completely fine.

I sometimes see my 7700x and 9800X3D hit 70-73c while web browsing etc.

Downloading something can also require some CPU power, downloading a game for example is actually quite CPU intensive..

40% CPU usage is far from idle.

Right so me downloading a game can make the cpu go from a 60c to possible 75c? okay that i didnt know thank you. what would you say should be a "good" idle / low load temp

Oh absolutely.  Remember that its installing the game at the same time so seeing 75c while downloading a game is absolutely expected behaviour.

The faster the internet speed and SSD you have, the faster it will install and the more CPU it will require to meet those speeds.

I would say that between 45-60c is decent idle temps for an AM5 system.
They do like to spike in temperature so just opening a web browser you can see it jump quickly to 70c and then down again.

I see absolutely nothing wrong here in anything you describe about your system. Its actually exactly how I expected it to be 🙂

I'll try it out and see how it is then, but thanks so much for the help and insight.

Absolutely!  Just tag me here or send me a DM if you have any more questions, it doesn't matter what it is 🙂
Keep me updated on your real idle temp.

I never turn my PC off so when I see it in the morning I see around 46c on my 9800X3D.

But this is without even turning my monitor on as I can see the temperature on my CPU Cooler.

Meh, not too worried about the wear on my PC parts.

My GPU and PSU fans turn off when idle/low load.

My CPU Cooler fans are easily replaceable, in my 25 years of building PC's I have actually never had a fan die on me.

I turn my PC off maybe 5-6 times a year.  I dont put it to sleep either, I just leave on.
