Amd install manager question

Kind of a noob question, but can not find online a good explanation. So i'm used to install new gpu driver through adrenalin software and mark "factory reset" option before installing the new one. I prefer to clean install it. In the new amd install manager in adrenalin software i can not find this option. Is there a way to do it or can only install over the previous driver? There's an option "uninstall" when you click on the 3 dots at the right, perhaps inorder to "factory reset" i should uninstall from there and then install the gpu driver? Or maybe the best way is to not use the new Amd install manager and navigate to amd site, download the driver'package from there and do a clean install?

Whatever that is just appears to be a download manager. That option is for an update to Adrenalin. If there is a new driver available, you should be able to update it like normal.

 

Basically, that install manager you're in is not a driver update.

Me personally prefer to use DDU to completely wipe display drivers.

That's the problem ,when you hit the download arrow it downloads and install automatically without giving you the option to "factory reset" and remove the previous driver like was with the old amd software version. I can only update over the previous one, but i prefer to clean install it.

From what it sounds like, thats because its installing an update to Adrenaline.. not just a driver. Thats likely still done from the little box in the upper right hand corner. I don't have this in front of me to show you but i think you're confused over what you're updating.

 

If you can't figure it out, just download the latest Adrenalin on its own then DDU.

No, im not confused. I am updating adrenalin gpu driver to the newest. You can do that from here, and you can update chipset also if want. Amd changed the way of updating drivers when added this new install manager. The option i highlighted in the picture is not available anymore.

And yeah i think at the end i may just download the driver package from the site....

TBH, given that DDU is under the MIT license, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the "factory reinstall" is just using DDU.
