do not waste your money on that upgrade, holy shit.   You'd have to buy CPU, Board, RAM, and possibly a cooler to run a 10 year old CPU.  DO NOT.

That would be the absolutely worst thing ever to buy.

If you're trying to stay cheap:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-Ryzen-5600-Processor-12-thread/dp/B09VCHR1VH/

Similar price for a Ryzen 5600

16-32GB DDR4 is *cheap* (esp if you poke around at used)

And you can get an AM4 board for well under 100 ukp.

Alternatively, look around at FB Marketplace or similar and see who is selling off older PCs of theirs, and get a barebones setup there.

I don't know how feasible it is used for your budget, but I'd prefer something like a Ryzen 3600/5600 or a i3-12100F/i5-12400F. You can get cheap boards for these CPUs, like H610, though DDR4 has increased in price a lot lately (at least, it has new).

A 6700K is not a bad CPU, since it can play most games, but ultimately still outdated with no real upgrade path.

Welcome to the forums!
Sorry, but I agree with Lurick, that's a dead end build. Best CPU that fits that mobo is a 3770k and it's still trash. You can't even salvage the RAM because you'd be looking at a 4790k at best which is still abysmal at this point and you'd need a new mobo.  FAR better to get a used (non-prebuilt) low-mid range AM4 build as it will stomp your current CPU and you can keep upgrading it over time

Ive have listed the board i have wasn't planning on upgrading that unless I have too because I'll need too re buy windows again

You cannot put a different socket CPU into the board, you need to upgrade the board to upgrade the cpu and also the ram and whatnot as mentioned.

The 6000 and 7000 series Intel CPUs are socket 1151v1

The 2000 series Intel CPUs are socket 1155

On the right track but I'd shave a little off the pricing... Unless you have the budget to spend?

It's basically telling you that the B550 board MAY have issues, if it was manufactured BEFORE the release of that CPU.  It was not, as stock that old is LONG gone.  UNless you're buying a new in box board that was sitting on a shelf for 5 years (when the microcode was released for the 5xxx series)....
