I sent back a return to amazon, until yesterday you could see the return stus. Now it act like I have even taken it to the Amazon store, but I have the tracking # that works..

Amazon has no status, they still act like it hasn't been taken anywhere to start the way back, but the tracking # has it on the way back.

I would assume the tracking isn't updated in real time. They likely only get an update each time the parcel arrives at some way station. As long as they show your package as arrived once you know it's arrived, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
