i have no idea what else i can try so here i am again.

system:

 motherboard: gigabyte b650 gaming x ax v2 rev 1.1 bios F36

 cpu: amd ryzen 7 7800x3d

gpu: sapphire pulse radeon rx 7900 xt 20gb

 ram: g skill ddr5 flare x5 2x16 gb

 psu: msi mag a850gl pcie5

 windows 10

pc has been running for just shy of a year now. did have an issue with a ram stick dying a few months ago but there is a new set of ram sticks in my pc and haven't had any issues since now.

Was using the PC for 3-5 hours.

Started up Hell let loose and the game didn't load the first time did a steam file check. Was able to load the game after that. played that for < 30 min while being in a discord call and then my pc blue screened and shutdown.

after the first blue screen the pc kept blue screening or shutting down randomly within seconds to minutes of getting into windows. noticed audio being a issues with 8 bit sounds and delayed feedback on changing sound volume levels.

was able to get some logging with windbg and this showed:

FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: 0xEF_svchost.exe_DcomLaunch_BUGCHECK_CRITICAL_PROCESS_2bc5d080_nt!PspCatchCriticalBreak

unsure if this was

at some point during all the trouble shooting and finding a pattern the pc wouldn't even get past the gigabyte logo and just reboot straight away.

i have spend a good day now trying to troubleshoot this issue.

i have updated the bios that was at 31 to 34 and now later 36 (with a usb)

i have tried removing the graphics card and using integrated graphics. i am not seeing a motherboard light showing any issues. i am able to get into the bios. i have tried cmos reset.

im now not able to get past the gigabyte logo it will either freeze or reboot.

i have tried removing all drives that where in the system and using a usb with linux mint and later fedora to see if i can get into anything but both of these are not getting any further.

linux mint in compatibility modes did throw something out that might be usefull it showed issues with job ldconfig.service/start and rcu_preempt deteced stalls on cpu.

i have run out of idea and trouble shooting steps and need more ideas on how to figure out where the issues lies.

Youve done an excellent job troubleshooting. Those are all the steps I would have taken. Have you tried looking at the debug lights on the motherboard during attempted boot? That could give you some insight. I would also try reseating the CPU. I had a pc with similar issues and that fixed it. Good luck

This sounds like it could be a CPU issue (likely memory controller or internal cache/crossbar error) or a Motherboard issue (voltage regulation or firmware failure). I would try downgrading your Motherboard Firmware or reinstalling the Latest firmware to see if the issues persist.

Just reacting so others might see this.

Turn out I didn't peel the fucking plastic off the cooler and it's worked fine for a year somehow. Me and the tech that removed it were both surprised it was that easy.

With the proper cooking it will get into windows so getting past the boot screen but it will still blue screen.

So in the end CPU issues that never showed up or was noticable during the last year of playing but did kill a cpu.
