Roast my setup!

The PC (specs below) probably isn't worthy of the monitor - curved, 27" 1440p and 144hz!

Amazon Basics 2.0 speakers (loud but lacks bass), a Microsoft Mouse (noisy clicks and small, but that's okay because we're small people), an HP keyboard that's okay, and a 720p 30hz decent webcam (not really great).

Oh, and that covered up printer - probably 20 years old - bought it from a garage sale for $5 and only B&W but it really works. Funny computer stool but it's actually quite comfortable. That background picture is actually one of our pictures - me or my family took it.

Cable management level 1/10 lol.

😅😃

Get a desk. A real desk.

I know. It's too small, and that limited my speaker choices too. But we plan to move soon. Small house = small desk.

For the chair, there's actually a leather and decent computer chair in the corner for whoever wants it whenever. In the right corner, take a look.

yeah that space must really bottleneck his mouse performance

I get it now! Haha! It's actually quite fine though. Wouldn't it be cool if this setup got onto the LTT video that @LinusTech and a few of his employees roast setups?

Actually, the mouse is below the keyboard for left-right movements, and that gives decent space. I don't know what the use of a mousepad is nowadays other than looks.

all you need is a mouse pad and a new mouse, the desk and cable managing can wait till you move, other wise it looks good

I use a trackball mouse so I don't need a mousepad.

I'm sure plenty of people here would have some nice comments about my setup.

1800-2400(for CS2). There's also rawAccel in the mix, though.
On the other side, I can't fathom why people insist on landscaping the whole table just to turn right.

It's nice to see a Victorian era sewing setup being repurposed like this. Your great great grandmother would feel right at home.

I see you've got a second mouse. That's helpful. You'll want to use both at the same time to double the amount of input. It's probably the only way to get the cursor across the screen with how compact the desk is.

Another good thing is that you're using an iGPU setup. A single hose portable AC unit like that probably couldn't handle the heat output of something more powerful, like a GT 1030.

The painter's tape on the VGA is presumably to mark who owns it. Is the Mesozoic Era going to show up later to get its cable back?

You gotta start somewhere. It isn't ideal, but it works. Backpain is a thing I am sure lol.

Heck, I am not even using a desk. I gave it up during COVID so my kids could use a computer up on the main floor, my setup is in the basement.

Mine could easily be roasted. My desk is my glass coffee table, my monitor is a TV sitting about 5.5 feet away. I have my tower beside it on an end table.

I retired my AVR system (for now) and got a nice soundbar/sub combo. I am typing this from a couch lol.

The reason I have two mice, is that the main one is Bluetooth and disconnects often, and instead of fixing it right away, we can use the wired one till I (the techy one of the family) can fix it.

Hahaha for the other stuff lol 😅

My mom would like sitting on the floor I'm sure.

There's lots of that blue tape on some of my cables.

It's probably dad's markings of what cable they are.

My Dad would mark each AC adapter for what PC it was for. When I found out that one Dell plug would work for most Dells it made life so much easier.

I have a KVM switch and I did label some of the cables, but it turns out that I ignore said labels.
