Considering building a new rig...

So i am debating whether or not to build a new gaming rig vs a new xbox.  With the prices of GPU's, are you really getting that much more performance per buck?  I mean i get that you can do more than just play games, but i dont use my rig for that.  I watch movies, stream video, screw around online, and a few times a week a play a steam game.  Why spend 700-900 on a gpu?  Just kinda getting to the whole value proposition.  Given my use case, does it really make sense to go crazy on the new rig?

You don't need the highest end GPU's to get the most out of a PC, I'm currently using a 5700XT for example and for my day to day use I haven't had any performance issues yet. You could spend around 300-400$ on a 9060XT or even go on the used market and get an older used card for better value, a 3070 can be had for around 250$.
