updated the main post, should i post a link to the zulam case?

The MSI is 276mm, might be your best bet.

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1575&products_id=26611

so i ordered the Sapphire Tri-x r9 290 and when it got home i noticed that it was to large to fit in my case ( Zalman Z11 Plues) now i'm gonna send it back and i want to buy a new r9 290

since i don't want to return it again i've come here to ask for your help guys in picking a different after market manufacturer for r9 290

i'm looking at zulam manual :PCI/AGP Compatibility 290 mm (11.4")

Asus DCUII? They're always a good bet.

Has decent cooling bus is also a bit long.

@dimitriianghelov why was it too large for your case? can't you remove a hdd cage?

Nope they're not this time, ASUS have slapped a 780 heatsink on a r9 290 so not all heatpipes make a contact with the gpu.

I recommend getting a bigger case or a dremel ;) otherwise a msi gaming or xfx DD?

msi twin frozr

I'd go for the MSI Twin Frozr gaming edition too. on the 290's their cooler performs much better than the ASUS DCU2 due to ASUS being lazy and recycling the 780 heat-sink. (also as a result the ASUS one runs a lot hotter and louder)

Nope, they have crappy VRM cooling. Unless the OP wants to stick copper heat-sinks onto the VRM with thermal adhesive, which I wouldn't recommend, I wouldn't go for the G10. Maybe wait for Corsair's recently announced "better" version.

The asus card is quiet but runs even hotter than a refrence card. Source: I had a 290x direct cu II myself.
