Budget (including currency): $10-12k

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I plan to use this PC for gaming at 4K (Triple A games obvily like Cyberpunk, God of War, Elden Ring, etc.) and watching movies, since I don’t have a TV. I’ll also use it for data storage and to run several scripts, so overall, it’s going to be an all-purpose, daily-use computer.

PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JB9WTM

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 4.3 GHz 16-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: MSI MPG CORELIQUID D360 77.4 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: ASRock X870E Taichi EATX AM5 Motherboard  ($449.32 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory
Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
Video Card: Asus ROG Astral OC GeForce RTX 5090 32 GB Video Card
Power Supply: SeaSonic PRIME TX-1600 ATX 3.1 1600 W 80+ Titanium Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro Retail - USB 64-bit
Monitor: Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM 26.5" 3840 x 2160 240 Hz Monitor
Total: $7963.14

This is the setup I have so far, but I’m stuck on a few parts and am unsure if everything is compatible. I’m open to swapping out some components, but the GPU and CPU need to stay as they are. I’m also interested in going with a water-cooled build.

I now don't tease me about my crazy budget, don't worry, I got the cash for it.

Also, if you want to know, I have an Alienware 17 R5
right now, I know very old stuff.

There are a few places I would save some money but you say you have the budget so I doubt saving 200 dollars on a cheaper motherboard will be all that meaningful to you.

Spending 925 bucks on an AIO is madness.

200 bucks on a Windows licence is also kinda wild.

Ryzen 7000 and 9000 don't like 4 sticks of RAM at all so we highly recommend going with 2x32GB instead of 4x16.

I also do not see a case in this build.

Oh, I thought I only put two sticks lol, we can take one of those out, also the AIO, I just have it there right now since I'll be changing it to what you guess suggests. Also, the case I have no idea for it other than just a clean case that showed off the money I spent lol.

Gotcha!  If you want stability and reliability, 2 sticks of RAM would be highly recommended 🙂

We have started to see 2x24GB and even 2x48GB kits so you can look for the latter if you want more than 64GB of RAM.

But for gaming and light workloads, this is very overkill.  6000Mhz CL30 is still recommended.

There are many cases on the market.

The Phanteks NV7 will really show off your GPU, AIO and fans if you go that route. Its quite a blingy case and its a good case too.

Cases are again very subjective.

My main objective when looking for a case is purely on thermals and noise levels.

But again, with a billion fans.. Thermals aint an issue 😄 And you can run the fans very slow so noise levels are okay too.

You want two sticks of RAM, not four due to the memory controller. 2TB SSD + 4TB SSD.

since I don’t have a TV

You do realize you can just buy one with the rest of the budget right?

and since its all purpose anyways you should probably use a tv instead of a monitor probs one of those oled tvs cause now they even got 144hz refresh tvs

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/d8FXt3

As for the list i just cut down on egregious wastes of money and then doubled the ram alongside doubling the ssds (speed and capacity) cause you can atleast waste your money properly and not buy ancient outdated yet still stupid overpriced 980/990 pros that get obliterated by similarly priced gen5s

The board supports x8 x8 pcie bifurcation if you wanna have a go with dual rtx 5090s though youll probably have to find a 2kw+ unit for that
