Hey LTT,

I'be been looking for a volt meter for my 780ti classified because I heard software will only read to what Nvidia allows. Where would I connect a voltmeter on my card? The 5 pin next to the PCI power looks like it would be used for that but the leads from the voltmeter do not match.

the classified voltage tool will allow you to change the voltage with software, but you won't be able to read the current value back.

 

you can buy pinout adapters to make it easier

Theres the actual guide, the NVVDD is located on pin 1, and pin 2 is ground, so probe/touch pin 1 w/ the red lead on your multimeter, and pin 2 with the black one

That 5 pin is for the EvBot. You need the EVGA Probe It connector on the 10 pins next to it (after the bios switch) and any decent DMM. You can do it without the Probe It but then you are risking shorting out the card.

I downloaded the voltage tool last night and GPU-Z seems to tell me the current voltage when I change it. I'm just gonna stick it at 1.3v, overclock and leave it.

GPU-Z doesn't tell you the correct voltage, so be aware of this.

Well, anyway the tool only allows 1.35v and i'm on water so it really can't be TOO high right?

The latest version of the tool goes upto 1.65v (although no more than 1.5v is applied on the regular 780Ti classified) and typically actual voltage is 0.025-0.05v higher on load. Since you are on water and you set it to 1.3v, you should be good but I can't vouch for it.

I tried that update. I had to reset the voltage every time. The 1.35v one stays where I last set it. I don't think I will get much more out of 1.65 tbh.
