Hey guys, I'm looking for a 1080p monitor and I saw this monitor which was perfect for my needs, 1080p, tilt, swivel, rotate, IPS, calibrated and USB 3.0 ports. I just want to know, is this a good monitor?

Yup.

And don't listen to brands for monitors. All the monitors use really similar quality, if they break, they break. Dell is fine too. Same with Acer although their PC's suck.

It's a Dell Ultrasharp, you can't go wrong @Demonicreature

Well... you CAN. They don't get recognized as full range RGB by NVidia, but that was an easy enough fix. They're freaking perfect in every other way. One of my sRGB calibrated profiles was a bit off but I was able to use the other to fix it myself. :)

?!

Please explain, how Nvidia doesn't provide full 8-bit color per channel with Dell monitors.

I think he means, when you use the monitor with an NVIDIA card over HDMI, the auto-detect sets it to the Limited RGB used on TVs, you have to manually set it to full RGB mode.

Ah ok. But that's HDMI, so who cares.

No, I don't. I mean over HDMI OR DP. Which is freaking ridiculous. DP is only PC. Yet it still shows as UltraHD. That's even with daisychained monitors, too. HDMI is actually easier to fix, you can alter the registry. DP requires that you set a custom resolution @ 59.999Hz to get the full range of 0-255.

Well Dell screwed up specifically, and that sucks.

Hopefully they'll release a new revision for it with the issue solved.

Was an issue with A00. Still an issue with my A01's. Well, it's not completely Dell's fault. They work beautifully with AMD. It's just NVidia that has the issue. It's easy enough to fix.

For that reason, I'm going AMD 390X or whatever else it is called for my next upgrade. They also have much better display spanning, and I want a 1440p in the middle.
