When ever I play video games my computer will freeze then give me an error "clock_watchdog_timeout" then it says it will restart my computer for me but once it reaches 100% it doesn't.

I have Windows 8.1 64 bit (Problem also occurred while I was running Windows 7)

*Computer Specs attached

My bios are updated to their latest version

The crashes usually happen while I am playing video games (Usually CS:GO) and Skype is in use in most cases.

The error always is clock_watchdog_timeout or a blue screen.

I have tried the following solutions:

-Updating my BIOS

-Reset computer

-Dusted inside

-Ventilating computer(in a cold room with air conditioning and an external fan pointed at it *hoping it would help)

The problem has been going on for about a year but comes and goes for months at a time. What I have noticed is after it stops happening for a long period of time and I uninstall games or programs that I do not use the problem will start up again.

Last time I crashed APU temp was 74 Celsius and 48% usage

watchdog timeout error typically means that your one core of your processor is waiting for a response from another core, and doesnt get it, thus BSoD.

usually caused by either driver issues or windows 8 hates your processor.  make sure to update ALL of your drivers.  mouse, keyboard, headset, gpu, everything. also windows updates.

My CPU usage and temp while idling is 5% and 37 Celsius. Not sure on my cooler though I can't find it in my specs.

I would try reapplying the CPU cooler and putting new thermal paste on it if that doesn't work try a new cooler i recommend the cooler master hyper 212 evo its a great price and a good option. If not RMA the apu.

The problem happened with Windows 7 so it isn't Windows 8 but I will just all my drivers

It sounds like a job for RMA :P

not at all. his hardware and temps are fine, doesnt need a new cooler either, his stuff just isnt talking to itself properly. correct drivers should fix this.

there is a program called Driver Reviver floating around that can scan your computer for outdated drivers. HOWEVER i've never used it, dont know if its free or not, and have no idea how much bloatware/malware comes with it

Still that 70c is not normal at that load.

he mentioned 37C at idle, thats fine for a stock cooler.    the 70C at 48% during his crash is a little high, but could have been residual from what he was doing before, could have been gaming shortly before it crashed and it hadnt fully cooled off yet.  at best he needs new thermal paste.  obviously i would recommend a new cooler eventually, but that is not his issue and there is certainly no need to rma anything

That error means that internal CPU timer at primary cpu core 0 or one of the cache banks has failed. Your best luck is to update your Motherboard and CPU drivers and restore any modified BIOS settings if you did any, if that doesn't work, you must change your CPU and/or motherboard!
