Hi,

I have an HP desktop computer(https://support.hp.com/my-en/document/ish_6181157-6181203-16)

It is a good pc and I am very happy. However, it has been restarting or crashing randomly while playing games since I bought it. We did some tests provided by hp, we downgraded the system to windows 10, upgraded again, deleted all hp bloatware. There seems to be no issues with it. And the worst part is it does not post any error messages before the restart. We just see an error message after the restart saying the computer crashed unexpectedly.
I also had another pc that was doing the same issue and it was from a different company that was prebuilt. I don’t know what might be the reason, I changed my keyboard, mouse, headphones after than. I also have a surge protected plug that only computer uses. And my husband also uses a similar plug and no issues in his computer.
I am not sure if I gave enough details. I hope there will be someone that understood this weird issue. Thanks

Are there any suspicious error and warning messages in the Event viewer, especially just before its crash and reboot?

Open start menu and type Event viewer, it should find it. Expand it and search for error and warning messages in the System log and Application log.

What is the cooling like in that system?

After this of course.

The issue is there is no error within a 10 minute span. It happens on random games and I reduced the graphics on them as well. The last straw was it failed on age of empires 2. I mean that is weird.

2 front coolers 1 back. There is also the cpu cooler. I attached a picture. But I also monitor the gpu/cpu heat. It does not go too crazy.

Check for CPU and GPU temperatures.

I looked through the specifications from that HP link.

Is it only possible to get that model with a 12th gen Intel cpu? You're sure you don't have a 13th or 14th gen Intel cpu in there?

Those Western Digital nvme drives, some models without DRAM have trouble with 24H2 version of Windows 11.

Have you checked if you have the latest firmware on those? Use Western Digital own software for that.

While you're at it check the SMART table on those nvme drives. CrystalDiskInfo is a good tool. You can post a screenshot of the SMART table in this post.

Have you done any memory test?

Memtest86 is the best tool for that. Windows own memory diagnostics is ok too.

AoE2? That is more CPU than GPU for sure. What I say is take the GPU out and play AoE2 with just your processor. If it crashes, it's the processor, if not then it is your GPU. I would have suggest this earlier but I wasn't paying attention to the Intel you had in there.

They never go above 60-80 degrees. I always keep an eye on them while playing games.

I don't have integrated graphics, will it work like that? It was restarting every 30 minutes when I was playing Oblivion remastered. Also Total War Warhammer 3 is another problematic game.

The weird thing is, my previous computer did that too. I mean, I don't do any crazy stuff. I download games from steam. Play them 3-4 hours at most a day. Watch youtube and netflix. This happening on both my computers is weird. Both of them arrived with Windows 11. This is the link for the previous computer

The i7 12700K should have an integrated gpu part. It doesn't end with F in its model name.

Your previous pc, with the i9 12900KF, does not have an igpu.

So as @Translucent_Fire suggested you can try AoE2 with only the Intel igpu, for troubleshooting.

If that works without any crashes then it's the gpu or perhaps its drivers.

Nvidia's drivers have been problematic for many recently. For some a workaround to install an older version has helped, version 566.36.

Your nvme drives seems to be fine, I don't think there's any problem with them.

Hmmm...... that's a good clue about your old computer doing that too!
