animal detection camera

I want to set up a camera in some fairly remote property that covers some kind of food dispenser and use "ai" to monitor what kinds of animals come by.
Can I do this with my existing unifi camera system, if I get one of their more expensive ai cameras
or is there something better? Ideally I would be able to filter out the more common animals from notifications.

Why not just use a trail camera and then have AI sort through the pictures from that?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

because i want it to be automatic.
although I guess i could use two cameras, one for the video and one that just does motion detection images and use those images for AI but that seems jank

Cool idea! 

 

Fairly remote could be a fun challenge!

 

 

Unifi has some AI camera stuff (i haven't used yet)

 

but if you look at Home Assistant you might find what you need there. I have a basic camera that point to my front door that sets off all my google home to make sounds (currently when someone triggers the the camera, they play "chicken jockey" as my kid things this is great)  its basic! 

 

You could do the same for a feeder i guess!
