Question about udm se

Hello i have a question about the 3 ports on the right hand side of this udm se.

 

It says 10g sfp+ wan port

10 g sfp+ port

2.5 gbe rj45 wan port....

 

So to my understanding I would plug my isp modem into the sfp or rj45 port with either a fiber or ethernet connection and the 10g sfp+ port would go to my switch and supply it with 10g if my isp is capable of delivering that speed?

You are correct - either of the ports marked WAN will hook up to the ISP’s equipment, and the other SFP port can go to a switch.

So i need to buy a sfp to ethernet adapter.... my home network is all ethernet.

Do I need to plud my isp into the 3 ports to the right or can I use the poe parts for my isp connection and my connections to the switch?

So you can configure the WAN line to any of those ports on the front, even any of the 1 Gbps ports. You could plug two 10 Gbps devices into the SFP+ ports and get 10 Gbps between them without a separate switch. Of course this would be an issue if your ISP provides 10 Gbps speed and you need one of those ports for WAN.

So i have 1 gig internet speed coming to my house, so I plan on using the 2.5 gig wan port and 1 of the 8 lan ports to go to my switch.

 

If my isp goes to 10g, I'll address that accordingly.
