Budget (including currency): 1k~1.5k

Country: US & Korea

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Simple multitasking with a lot of chrome tabs. Games like league, valorant, warframe, cs2

Other details I have an rtx 4060 and don’t know what cpu to get. Also need the half-sized version of a motherboard, but don’t know which one to get either. I don’t need any rgb and color don’t matter to me. Great performance over looks is what I’m aiming for.

As I’m making a mini size pc, I hope to make a pc with a good quiet cooling system (6fans like my roommate said).

I’m coming from a macbook 💻 only thing I had my entire life. Hate it and love it, but for work, I prefer to have a computer that I can sit with a proper posture and game occasionally lol.

If possible, gaming on 140fps+ seems great and a good screen that doesn’t fall off much from mac screens because I’m more used to quality screens like the macbook. I’ve never known to make pcs and my roommate told me how it all works recently. I will be back for studies and “war” in Korea, so I am also willing to buy some parts there, including the US.

There are three sizes of motherboards in common DIY use: ATX, M-ATX, and mini-ITX. When you say "half-sized" do you mean M-ATX or mini-ITX?

With smaller cases GPU dimensions are important. What model RTX 4060 do you have?

I have the MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 8GB GDRR6.

I'm talking about mini-ITX.

the guy who gave the pc part list includes *Gigabyte A620I AX Mini ITX, but the reviews say ASRock A620 is better for the price. should I get that one?

Hello... I see that you want to Build a New Gaming PC. Well I have just the one for you. I have also added a Monitor for you that has 170Hz and Built in Speakers so that you don't have to wear Headphones 100% of the time. The only things in the Build that has RGB is the Motherboard and the CPU Cooler but both can be turned off with the ASUS ARMOR Software.

Although for a first time Build I don't recommend ITX, I went with what to wanted. For the CPU I went with the Intel Core i5 13400F. I know the Backlash of all the 13th & 14th Gen Intel CPUs in the last few years but they have fixed those issues and with a Motherboard BIOS Update it won't be a problem anymore. I also when with Intel because it was currently cheaper than a Ryzen 5 CPU and this i5 13400F has 10 Base Cores instead of 6.

I tried to find a good ITX Motherboard but to fit within a smaller budget you kinda have to take what you can get but I was able to find a ASUS ROG Board that was really decent for the price. It's a B760 so you won't be able to Overclock but the CPU will still Turbo for Higher and Longer times which is better for the CPU than Overclocking in my opinion.

I thew in the Standard RAM Size and Speeds of 32GB 2x16GB 6000 CL30 & for Storage I went with a basic 2TB M.2 Drive.

Now I know you said that you already have a RTX 4060 but that GPU is limited to only 8GB of VRAM and that's not good for Games these days. Most Games like at least 16GB to Run Smoothly. So I went with a RTX 5060Ti 16GB Gigabyte Model. I had more than enough in your budget to add in a GPU so if it will tremendously help you out why not right?

The Case I picked is small and doesn't come with any Fans but I added a 5 Pack of Fans that should be pretty quiet. You would place 2 Fans on the Side, 2 below the GPU, & 1 in the Rear and all the Fans can Daisy Chain together so you will only need 1 or 2 Fan Headers. As for the Top if the Case for Fans I went with a AIO for the CPU Cooler. It's a 240mm AIO that has a 2 Fans & a Digital Temp Screen that covers the CPU so that you will always know what Temp the CPU is without the need for extra Software.

And then the Monitor is ASUS TUF 27" 170Hz 1440p. This is a pretty decent Monitor for the price range.

Personally I would spend a bit more on a decent B650 or B850 motherboard.

PC heroes said B760. how does B650 compare? does it fit a mini pc? Can I get a link to the item?

Different platforms. B760 is for Intel 12th, 13th, and 14th gen. B650 and B850 are for AMD AM5. My comment was directed at the recommendation of an A620 motherboard.

There are multiple B650 and B850 mini-ITX motherboards. https://pcpartpicker.com/products/motherboard/#f=8&c=160,169.
