Are antenna cables universal

what cables?  Those are for Bluetooth I think?  The Wifi aspect doesn't need any cables, as far as I know.  Mine does not.

I'm guessing this is in a laptop and about replacing the wireless card ?

The cables/connectors should be standard, but they do recommend replacing it with the same model of card it initially came with to avoid issues.

Unplug the connector and check if you didn't somehow bend the pin in it.

Are they the style cables @TetraSky posted? Are what you ordered similar in size? They do come in a couple of sizes. As long as what you ordered was similar it should be correct. Those cables can be a bit tricky, they do have to go down pretty straight. They can be kind of easy to damage as well. I would inspect both the cable and boards socket closely.

In my experience they should ALWAYS click, every time they haven't I found they were not making a connection.

AFAIK the antenna socket should be identical on all M.2 WiFi cards, they only changed when we went from miniPCI to M.2 cards.
