Hi,

I’ve built a new pc so now also want to upgrade my monitor. I’ve got a 5090 now so it seems like a good time to switch to 4k. I’m looking at the MSI QD OLED but they’ve now released a DP2.1 version. I’d have liked to get the white version but that one remains DP1.4a with DSC and is also the same price as the newer DP2.1 version. Would it be better to go with the newer DP2.1 spec version?

It's neat to have, being if It's 80Gbps actually. But if you find a monitor with specs and features you like but has older port, it's fine. I have 4K 240Hz with 480Hz mode and it's using DSC.

Monitors Unboxed did vid on this.

Yeah, I really like the white version of the MSI monitor such a shame they haven’t included DP2.1 where it’s new seems a bit of an oversight. I have a 20% off voucher for the white version. So would be £240 cheaper than the DP2.1 version.

Yeah, new things initially are more expensive and more scarce that's for sure. Though that's a decent bit cheaper.
