Have a RX6700xt right now and was considering upgrading to a 5070, if I did will the rest of my pc be fine? My CPU is a i5 12600kf, mobo is the ASRock B660M Pro RS, and a MSI MAG A650BN for my PSU.

The rest of your system is fine for a 5070 🙂

Power supply is plenty good enough.

The 5070 actually only draws 20w more than the 6700 XT.

CPU is still decent and will be enough for a 5070 upgrade.

Good to go!

Ok! Thank you! Yea the part I wasn't sure about was that the mobo is gen 4 pcie and the 5070 is gen 5 pcie and some people say it would be slower and some say it wouldn't be slower.

Why are you upgrading?

What about RX 9070, or is that one too expensive compared to 5070?

It won't be slower, 5090 loses 1-4% performance, but 5070 or 9070 aren't 5090, so they lose way less FPS running 4.0 PCIe.

That's fine if your motherboard is only PCIE Gen 4, it makes no difference 🙂

I have a PCIE Gen 4 motherboard and I planned on running a 5090 so.

That is nothing to worry about.

Not really, only 7% increase, wouldn't pay 250$ extra for 7% even if it has more VRAM.

What resolution do you play on?

Right now 1080P, the 6700xt does good in the games I play, I was just going to sell some old tech and could probably upgrade for nearly free

1080p is good, even 1440p is fine with 12GB VRAM card, though it does slightly limit it's ability to go UltraUltra graphics. But that's not that big of a deal since some of these cards unless they use upscaling wouldn't even get enough fps anyway with Maximum graphics on demanding games.

Where are you shopping?  9070xt is $850.  9070 is cheaper.

5070 over a 6700xt isn't a worthwhile upgrade imo

It kinda is tho, +70% performance

9070 is a bit faster and has more VRAM, but no DLSS and worse RT, and in Europe they're more expensive than 5070 (so aren't good value)

Is that with all the ai stuff in?   Seeing how the 5070 is beating the 3090.

Guess I thought the 6700xt was stronger, my bad.
