Hello there. Here are my PC specs:

CPU: Intel Core i9-14900K
Board: MSI PRO Z790-A MAX WIFI

Memory: 2x 16GB DDR5 G.Skill Ripjaws 6000MHz

OS: Fedora 42 Workstation on Linux 6.14.3-300.fc42.x86_64

The thing is, while monitoring my CPU Vcore voltage, I noticed when I open apps, or do things that need quick CPU boost, the Vcore voltage goes way too high (> 1.45).

For example in the attachment, it shows the Vcore voltage is almost 1.5V, which is making me concerned as I don't want to get my chip degraded.

I have the latest CPU microcode 0x12c, and this is still happening.

Any ideas?

the max voltage of your cpu seems to be 1.72v, as long as it doesn't stay at 1.5v for a super long time you should be fine.

Thanks for your reply. May I ask where did you get this information? And yes, it doesn't stay at 1.5V for a long time. At most, for 1s.

Hmm, I'd expect to stay at the Intel Default settings after microcode updates.

Lowering voltage with stability test would only lower the temps, creating no other issues if stable. But up to you I guess, if the system is stable and not overheating then nothing much to do.

Pax vobiscum
