Hi,

I having this problem when i am trying to go play cs2 i keep connecting to hong kong servers. I live in Europe so that makes ping too high. I only have this problem when connecting trough my router with ethernet cable. When i use phone with usb the game finds right servers. I have tried limiting ingame ping cap but doens help. Is this somethin to do with valve servers, my router or my internet provider?. (sorry for bad english)

Welcome to the forums!
Probably better answers on Steam but I'll see what I can do
Is it possible there is a VPN set up somewhere? Either on your PC or the network itself?

I don't play CS2 but I seen similar issues many times.

What the steam client is doing is a query to servers and it goes with the server with the lowest ping. But depending on internet congestion/traffic and sometimes DNS servers, the first ping query is way off track and you get connected to the wrong servers.

What can you do ? You can try connecting to servers, close the game and then connect a second time. This should mitigate the errors on the first ping if that is the issue.

You can try setting your DNS servers to 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (Google) so that your ISP servers won't matter. This works only if the game tries to connect to a url servers, it has no effect when connecting directly to a ip address.

If nothing works, then try using a VPN (proton vpn was a good free server last time I checked) and change your country to see if you can make the game connect to other servers than Hong Kong.

Good luck !
