Reinstalling Windows

Go to solution Solved by jscho,

Call Microsoft's support line, they'll fix it for you. I've done it before and worked no worries. :)

You'll have to input a whole bunch of numbers though, get ready for 15-30 minutes of careful listening and dialing ^_^

Microsoft can get rekt with that. My current install of Windows is activated because of a loader. I did /buy/ a legit Win7 disc off Newegg back in 2011 and that box disc was stolen by a bunch of idiots I used to live with. I would never give MS the time or day with all that hassle to potentially pay for another 100+ dollar license for the "privilege" of using a non secure operating system. They have to be mental to think anyone would rebuy keys.

Now when Win9 comes out, I'll do another legit upgrade. :P

I brought my first legit OS key a few weeks back, it felt weird.

I don't mind legit keys since you're not going to constantly change your OS. But when you're kinda pressured into it times or when a key suddenly becomes invalid, MS is making piracy more common on their OS. They should seriously do away with retail and oem keys and make a unified key. Kinda dumb to have both imo since one is locked down to your motherboard. Doesn't make a single ounce of sense when you consider the actual iso is the same.

As said, I'll give them some dosh again once Win9~
