How many of those disks are you using?

 

Why 4 cpus? Your adding a lot of potiental for latency compared to a single CPU between all those CPUs and ram.

 

What OS? What protocol?

Generally a raid5 means one parity disk, do you mean a raid50 or 6?

 

Generally raid5 or any parity raid doesn't have the best performance, look at a mirror solution for better performance.

What server are you using? Some need the extra CPUs for running devices on. Look at the block diagram of how its wired internally

 

What protocol do you need? What are your clients?
